May Update
I’ll only be doing monthly updates from now on, plus release notices and any special news. I’d intended to leave this until later in the month, but there’s a few things to say already (and this keeps things a little more regular).
First, a big thanks to everybody who has reviewed Demon’s Throne. Reviews do make a difference. If you haven’t picked up my latest book, get it from Amazon. No audiobook news to announce for the series yet, but I can promise there will be audiobooks.
I’m currently focused almost entirely on the final book of Empire Reforged. I know it’s not the most popular series for most people (and will probably make very little), but I want to be an author who finishes series. It should be out right at the end of May.
Heretic Spellblade News: First audiobook by Stephanie Savannah is out on June 8, with the second coming out not long after. I plan to release the 3rd book at the end of June.
If you’re interested in beta-reading for Heretic Spellblade 3 in late June (and aren’t already on my list), message me on FB or send me an email. The basic requirement is that you need to read the book and respond within a week.
A few people have noted the connections between my series while reading Demon’s Throne. There are multiverse links between all of my series, but I plan to keep them to a manageable level. I don’t want people to feel confused that they don’t know what’s going on if they haven’t read another series, unless it’s a clear sequel. But you will see references and connections between the worlds and magic systems of each series.
I’ve been considering a patreon with early chapters and the like in the second-half of the year. I have opinions about patreon and receiving money without giving much in return, but it is a great way to smooth out some of the bumps in income as I go full-time as an author and letting readers be involved creatively. I’m still trying to work out what I’d feel is fair but also I don’t know what folks are interested in (if anything). I’ve been leaning toward more exclusive content. Opinions and thoughts are very welcome.
As an update to the series length comments I made a while back (as I’ve gotten questions about them, but didn’t publicly respond), both Heretic Spellblade and Demon’s Throne will be 6 or so books in length. I still have misgivings, particularly after the launch of Demon’s Throne, but I’ll round both series off as quality series of a proper length. That will leave room to revisit them later as well, particularly given the size of the world of Demon’s Throne.
Finally, a small comment on the Demon’s Throne launch. It went okay, but I had hoped for better. I’m not going to do a full post-mortem or anything. It will be a while before I launch another series, so I have time to chew on things and determine what form my future series take. While I'll stay in harem, it's likely I'll try something different and simpler for my next series. (EDIT: This aged like milk. Things improved.)
FInally, I’ll link the mistakes form to use if you spot any spelling or grammar mistakes. I try to correct any errors submitted through this pretty quickly, and a huge shoutout to people who have already told me about errors.
