June Update + Patreon Launch
We’re halfway through June now, so I have a few updates.
I’ve launched my Patreon now. If you know how author Patreon’s work, check it out at the link below. I’ll be posting roughly a chapter a day of Heretic Spellblade 3, plus other stuff, for June. Otherwise, there’s more info on my Patreon at the end of this update.
https://www.patreon.com/kdrobertsonThe audiobook for Heretic Spellblade is out now. You can also preorder the audiobook for Heretic Spellblade 2, which is coming out July 13th. These are my first audiobooks, and it’s great to hear my own works being read out by a fantastic narrator like Stephanie Savannah.

Book 2: https://www.audible.com/pd/Heretic-Spellblade-2-Audiobook/1039401740Continuing the Heretic Spellblade news, I’m making great progress on the third book. It’ll be out early July. I’ll reach out to beta readers shortly (this is unconnected to Patreon).
This isn’t an proper schedule update, but just an FYI. After HS3, I’ll be focused on more Demon’s Throne books for a while (plus the final book of Empire Reforged). There’s a fairly good chance that Demon’s Throne overtakes Spellblade in book count by the end of the year.
Now, let’s talk Patreon.
If you support me, you can get early chapters, cover art previews, and exclusive stories. People can provide feedback on books and I’m likely to be more open on Patreon about the creative side of things. I’d also like to be able to start writing stories and mini-serials that just don’t work on Amazon, and to get people involved in some of the creative process of my books.
I ummed and ahhed over a Patreon for a while. The final push has been the Demon’s Throne launch. It was a bit rocky, although it worked out. It also opened me up to some fairly transparent trolling, but being trolled is just a fact of life as an online creator, even if it’s frustrating to deal with. Overall, the launch was a reminder that being a full-time author comes with a lot of uncertainty and that I felt restricted talking publicly about even fairly basic creative stuff.
In the end, the Patreon is an attempt to create a space where you can support me if you choose, but where I can also talk more about creative elements of my books that I otherwise keep to myself.
For those not interested in Patreon, I will add that my books will always be complete packages. I won’t ever be removing content from books and restricting it to Patreon. Instead, the stories will likely be extras related to the characters and worlds of the books, or deleted scenes that couldn’t fit the pacing or theme of the book.
