Maps!

My new series, Demon’s Throne, is releasing within the next week. I figured a few people might be interested in the maps for it, even though they don’t have the book yet.

There are two maps for now: one of the archipelago, and one that’s a close-up of the main island. They are high detail color maps. No world map, as the series won’t explore the main continents of the world until a potential sequel.

The series takes place in an archipelago in a world known as Harrium. It’s a very high magic setting currently going through the magical equivalent of the industrial revolution. But the main character (Rys) has woken up in the boonies after a very long nap, and he remembers a time when magic did a lot more. Also, demons and angels ruled the world. Things were a touch different.

The maps will be linked in the front of the book, but it’s difficult to include and read maps in ebooks. Amazon charges digital delivery fees, which makes including high-res images painful. These are also high-detail color maps. Black-and-white eReaders will miss details and zooming in is painful.

So they’ll be permanently up on the website. I’ll likely build up a small list of archived extras for my series over time. Because it’s based on an older series of mine, Demon’s Throne has a gigantic 60+ page lore document about the setting I might unearth and fix up. Maybe. Dunno if anybody is interested in a novella of lore about a fantasy setting.

Extra maps will come slowly for my other series, probably. They take a little bit of time to make, and filling in all of the details is a lot of effort. Feedback on them is always appreciated, as I’ve been adjusting the style with the newer maps.
