July Update
2022 is halfway over and it’s definitely going too fast for me, but that’s life. Another month, another writing update.
If you somehow missed the release of Neural Wraith, go check it out. A huge thanks to everyone who shared, reviewed, or read it. It’s been far more successful than I expected (mind you, I had fairly low expectations), and I really appreciate all the support. The book was a big risk, even if I loved writing it, so seeing it be so well received is fantastic.
Heretic Spellblade 5 chapters are (finally) dropping on Patreon. I still expect to release this in August, with Book 6 a month later. Planning out both books together is a new experience, though, and I’m already adjusting some of my plans for Book 5 as a result. The series has grown massively in cast and complexity, which makes it hard to cover everything in enough detail. Definitely makes me concerned about my plans for Book 7, too.
A lot of people have asked whether Neural Wraith will get a sequel. The answer is yes, and the cover for book 2 is already done. My writing schedule is a bit of a mess, but I’ll worry about it once Spellblade 5 and 6 are out. NW is currently planned as a trilogy, but I’ll think about whether it should be longer once Book 2 is done.
Audiobook news: Neural Wraith is with Podium (and will therefore release on Audible), but no narrator news yet. It will probably be a solo female narrator. The first two Demon’s Thrones are out on Audiobook Guild. Book 3 just came out as well.
EDITED 8th July: Podium just confirmed that Stephanie Savannah will be narrating Neural Wraith, and I'm thrilled to have her doing the books. I'll probably wait a little bit before sharing this myself on FB, because FB has a nasty habit of throttling who sees my updates if I post close too together (i.e. they want me to pay). But feel free to share this news and Steph has shared it herself.
This is a fairly quiet month overall, as I keep my head down and focused on Spellblade. is done. I’ll share any audiobook news as it comes up, but otherwise I’ll see you next month.
